Renewable Energy Fast Track Projects
The U.S. Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are committed to America’s clean energy future. In order to achieve this, the BLM-California is working to diversify the nation’s energy portfolio through the “fast-track” development of wind, solar, and transmission siting on BLM-managed public lands within the state.
Fast-track projects within the State of California are those renewable energy projects that have made significant progress in the permitting process and have either formally begun or will soon begin the environmental review and public participation process. Additionally, companies responsible for each fast-track project could potentially be cleared for approval by December 2010 and would then be eligible for economic stimulus funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
